Terms of service
If it doesn't apply, let it fly.
-Ensure the vehicle has fresh, full, clean oil prior to tuning.
-Ensure the vehicle has spark plugs that are newer than 25K miles.
Contact the shop to see what plugs you need to put in.
-If the vehicle is a 2015+ Subaru WRX(NOT STI) or any direct injected vehicle, a walnut blast service is HIGHLY recommended(in some cases, mandatory) to complete prior to tuning. This is typically dependent on mileage. If your vehicle has over 40K miles and a walnut blast service has never been done, it will have large carbon deposits which can cause misfire. If this happens, we will be unable to successfully complete tuning. Contact the shop with any questions.
-If you are receiving a flex fuel tune ensure you do not bring the vehicle in with more than 1/4 tank of pump gas or you will be charged a fee to drain the pump gas from the vehicle.
-If the vehicle has over 100K miles and is running the factory coil packs, they may cause break up issues during tuning. Based on mileage, it may be recommended to put new coil packs on the car.
-If your car is lowered and not on bags your vehicle may not be able to be successfully loaded on the dyno without damage to the exhaust components, tires and/or wheel housing components. If this is the case, the vehicle can only be tuned on the road. This decision is completely up to Reese Tuning's discretion. This policy is in affect to keep your vehicle and our equipment in safe working order.
-All vehicles prior to 2010, all vehicles with a JDM swap and/or all vehicles with a mileage exceeding 100K(no matter the year) are required to have a pre tuning inspection. How the process works- You will pay the required tuning deposit and if the car is ready for tuning(no obvious mechanical issues, vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks, oil leaks, etc) we will proceed the same day with your appointment for tuning. In the event the vehicle is not ready for tuning your deposit will go towards one of two options: 1. further diagnosing and repair of issues present at Reese Tuning. or 2. You will need to take the car to a mechanic of your choice and then reschedule your tune. If we load the car onto the dyno and mechanical issues arise after the tuning process has started you will be billed for the time spent on inspection/diagnosing which is $195USD/hour. This amount is not to exceed your deposit amount of $250 unless otherwise agreed upon by you(the client). If the car has to come on and off the dyno to resolve mechanical issues there is an applicable dyno strap fee of $195USD.
-ANY PARTS CHANGED AFTER TUNING MAY BE SUBJECT TO A RE-TUNING FEE. IT IS ADVISED THAT YOU CONSULT REESE TUNING PRIOR TO CHANGING ANY PARTS.
-We are open by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Walk-in clients are NOT permitted.
-If it has been 30 days or more after a successful engine calibration/tuning, the cost to review logs and consult on any issue present is $185 for three logs. If we are diagnosing in person the cost is the standard shop hourly rate.
-UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER IS ANY CLIENT ALLOWED TO ENTER THE WORK AREA UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY REESE TUNING STAFF
-REESE TUNING RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANY PERSON, ENTITY OR VEHICLE FOR ANY REASON AT ANY TIME UNLESS OTHERWISE CONTRACTED
-IF YOU ARE MORE THAN 20 MINUTES LATE TO YOUR APPOINTMENT YOU MAY BE RESCHEDULED
-If you have questions or need clarification on any of these policies please contact the shop at sales@reesetuning.com
